slag_350300 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Was wondering what pipes people were running with the 421 serval top end? Ive got a set of Paul Turner midrange pipes and wasnt sure if I needed to get a different set to utilize all power. Quote
SuperMex Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I'm going to run R-2s with my Serval I would think the PTs would choke that motor Quote
TNTS355 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 From all the reading I have seen on here they suggest a high range pipe. If you look at a past thread M&M dynoed the serval. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=134580&st=0&p=1163102&fromsearch=1entry1163102 Quote
camatv Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 without the right pipes these motors arent making much power at all. Quote

slag_350300 Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 What do you have for the rest of the setup? I had stock cylinders bored .60 over with Paul Turner National porting, stock crank, boyesen reeds, pro designs head w/ 20cc domes, advanced timing +4, 34mm PJ carbs, pro designs filter kit, paul turner midrange pipes, stock clutch, I am going to buy a serval 421 top end, +4 stroker crank, custom domes, pistons, HD clutch, currently run 50/50 pump gas and av gas. I wasnt sure if I needed new pipes or not the serval shines in the low to mid range so I thought the midrange pipes might be a good match but I am not sure. I was looking into either Pro circuit, Shearer or R2 pipes if mine dont work out. Also was wondering if a lockup clutch was necessary with the setup I plan on running? Quote

Try the pt mids first, then report back with your findings. Quote
