stroker450 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 I rebuilding a 350 alcohol cheetah cub motor. I have a few question on it, the pistons i bought Are 513M06500 Wiesco Prolites 65mm. The windows on the new pistons are alot smaller than the ones that were in it. My question is should i just take those to the machine shop to have them matched or can i buy the correct ones already cut to the correct window size. Also since the the cylinders are nikasil can i have that honed? or do i need to replate it. Quote
theshee Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 thats just a 350 cub cylinder bud... cheetah cubs have powervalves, different head and way bigger intakes, whole nother animal. Quote
VR350 Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Oh ok lol ok good to know The Cheetah Cub uses factory sized head and intakes, it was designed so that people could use most of the parts they already had. It doesn't have powervalves The Cheetah cylinder uses larger reed cages and a largrer head. It's usually larger bore size than the cub. It is available with powervalves The Cheetah DM cyl uses even larger intakes and usually a larger bore than the Cheetah As for the piston windows, that is usually a builders option. there are some that say the window size doesn't matter and some that do. Personally i like to open up the windows a little. Edited April 4, 2011 by VR350 Quote
