running bad mid range, using more gas, plug on right side seems to be wet and pretty oily (which means not firing properly) . Just put new top end but this was doing this before TE replacement? Swithched plug wires, not much change. Have 6-10 hrs on rebuild. Didn't change any carb stuff, besides cleaning bowls. Needle and seats have slight groove but this shouldn't be mid range problem, I believe. Any thoughts from some that have run into this problem?

Have you checked for any air leaks?

Running bad mid range will not be fixed by a new topend. If it is bad in the mid then you have a jetting issue or a carb issue. Did it just start doiing this and then you decided to do a new topend?

ran great for a long time (8yrs), last summer mid range problem just started for no reason. wasn't adjusting anything. took comp check and right side was about 78-80 so thought it was time for it's first top end (1999). Now I still have a problem on right side carb, settings, who knows !! I have took bowl and cleaned jets and that has helped in overall but something is still not correct? haven't did compression test but it runs strong after around 2500 I believe.
