lastnline75 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 getting ready to put the toomey t5's on the new groundup rebuild and was wondering what is the better way to attach the pipes to the frame? should the yamaha factory style front exhaust hangers be used since they have the rubber dampner or is it ok to use a set of aluminum hangers in the front? dirtydownunder Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 i run the stock rubber mounts, i know they arnt as good to look at, as some billet ones. but solid mounted exhausts tend to crack. Quote
wacko2000 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I like the stockers, or ones similar thats give a little so you don't crack the welds on your pipes.. What i did with the stockers, was i drilled them out, took out the original shitty rubber and used some rubber grommets, used a nut wth nylon so it could back off and they look great and hold up awesome. Like stated about, things that don't give tend to break.. Its hard to see, but might get the idea from my sig pic Joe Quote

I haven't had an issue with my CPI's cracking yet, and I have the solid billet hangers...i sure as hell hope they dont crack Quote
