r6banshee Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Hey guys im new to the forum. I have a 2001 r6 swapped banshee and I made a +12 swingarm for it. I am using the stock bike exhaust so I don't have much clearance. the problem that I'm having is that with a swingarm extension....obviously there is more leverage resulting in the rear coilover squating more that with a stock swingarm. Is there heavier rate spring available for the stock shock so that im not bottoming out so quickly? Quote
Phelps Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 you can use the R6 rear shock with small modifications. the bottom sleeve in the shock has to be replaced. i was told the factory can't be drilled by my machine shop. we just found a brass sleeve to replace it. it makes them sit pretty low on a +10 though. i have also hear of ppl running R1 shocks as well. seem to sit higher with the R1 shock.
