bns_blueticks Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Hey I just got a 2002 banshee and it already has these upgrades It has FMF Gold Series Fatty pipes,FMF boost bottle,they said it had been jetted out,I was also told that the guy he got it from had built up the motor as well,and it has wide nerf like foot bars.It starts good as long as u barley push the throttle but if u dont it wont start, and it will not idle at all i tried adjusting the air screws but it made no differance in the idling,but other than that it runs fine and will haul ass I have never owned one before so im new to these monster's,and other than the idleing what else can i do to make it faster without breaking the bank lol? banshee67 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 sounds like a jetting problem with your mains. you might be a tad rich. have you adjusted your needle? well it shoud be fine to ride like this. better to be a little rich thaan a little lean. and what i have found for performance with these things is that its all a little pricey. most of it comes in two's you know. i would look into a modified head like a cool head or mill your stocker down about 20 over or so. wouldnt go over 25. after that i would look into a clean up port job first and a timing plate Quote

If not, you should try adjusting your idle screws. If your bike does have TORS...get that shit off there asap. Now in my opinion your better off ditching that boost bottle and running the stock crossover tube. As for more power...timing plate @ +4, Reeds, air filters, porting...etc. Hit up Wildcard Racing for any mods, or any site sponsors on here are great! Quote

bansheesrtoys Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 the tors is on top of the carbs and have eletric plugs going to them.they r for if the carbs slides get stuck open when you let of the thottle.it will shut the motor down, with out it it's up to you to do it. and when racing just hit that thottle and it will do the rest , with some good pipes u should be able to beat if not keep up with any 450r out their. avoid just pinning it or you will lose the race because you will spin them tires, ease it into the powerband once moving WOT. o- yeah hold on tigh it could get a little bumby. If they have big nasty ugly boxes on top..then yes you still have tors. If they just have caps with your throttle cables coming out, then your tors is gone. Now you can still have those boxes on there, and just unplug your tors..but IMO getting the new caps and idle screws is the only way to do it. Post some pics of the bike... Quote
bns_blueticks Posted November 18, 2010 Author Report Posted November 18, 2010 thanks it dont have it one there just the caps and cable,i think im just gonna send it in to the shop and get it all checked out cause it has alot of power but it just dont seem right 1st threw 3rd is ok but 4th 5th and 6th are very diferant it just bolts through em it has alot more power in the upper 3,i mean the damn thing wont stand up i havnt jerked the shit out of it but it wont do it just by being in first and goin slow and punching it or when i shift to second the wheels dont come up it just takes off and this is the first one i have owned so i dont know how it should be .
