I have a 4 mill std bore shee with fmf sst pipes, a cleanup port job, vitos reeds, and a 2 into 1 intake with a 34mm pj carb with clamp on filter...it currently has a 42 pilot and a 150 main not sure on the needle... the qaud runs ok but sputters bad at low throttle and fell like it doesnt pull as long as it should... im not sure on elevation but I live in eastern ky.. anything would be helpful... AKheathen Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 well, first off, that 2-1 is really choking the 4mill down. 2nd, i think you should be closer to the 165 range on the main, depending on temps, elevation, and fuel. when warmmed up, it should pull clean and throaty all the way up at wot. if it sputters and brakes up, then it's rich, if it kinda mutes and falls flat, a little zingy sounding, then it's too lean, one sure sign that you are 2 or more sizes lean is if it picks back up as you let off the throttle. one size, and you may get a hesitation.....hard to tell on a 2-1, though....once you get the main done, then tune the needle for 1/4-3/4 throttle, and finish with pilot jet and airscrew adjustment....and everything is tuned to a hot engine Quote
