I forgot to tighten my spark plugs and one of them shot out of the top when I was playin in the desert. I cleaned and tightened everything down and continued on my way but after about an hour the motor started sputtering and became hard to start. Took it home

I just took the top off and notice the dome has pits and the and the cylinder wall is scored, and piston is warped near the scored wall and pitted in the center. F&*@! me! Can anyone tell me if that alone would have caused so many probs?

Heads were dune ported, +4 timing, 65.25 pistons.

I'm ready to be made fun of but I could use some help to go with it.

detonation is what backed your spark plug out. too much timing, or not enough octane.

you've got "dune ported heads"?

yeah, the hard starting could be from the compression that was lost in the one cylinder. sounds like its time for a fresh bore/hone and new pistons. :shrugani:

if he didnt tighten them down like he said, then vibration could have easily backed them out. i doubt he has too much timing at +4.

+4 timing 91 octane and tons of heat can easily cause detonation.

Does anyone know a good place in az to get work done?

What part of AZ? if you are very close to Utah I know a couple decent places here.

well, i'm sure it was definately detonation that occured. it could be the heat, jetting, or compression that caused it. you can go as high as 66.5mm on the bore. check you the site sponsors for reliable work....

SO I got them apart and they were both bad the rings on the not so bad side were stuck and do not freely move. It has also been sleeved which I was not aware of when I bought. Feeling like I got screwed. I am headed back to the place I bought this to see what he thinks. Only rode it three times...

that looks more like you overheated it, or not enough oil. also you realize stock cylinders have steel sleeves in them right? why do you say they are re sleeved? if done right there is nothing wrong with a re sleeved cylinder.

I'll second the lack of lubrication, after seeing pics..

Also, I think your problem might also have something to do with that wrench in the bottom of your cylinder.
