Hello all

 

im rebuilding my banshee and it will have the following spec

 

4mm dune port cylinders 65.5mm

prodesign cool head with 20cc domes on pump gas 95 octane

vforce 2 reeds

36mm lectron carbs no power jets

4mil 115mm hotrod crank trued and welded (i have the spacer plate)

Rocket 2 pipes

dynatek fs programable cdi or timing plate set to +4 (i have both and will see which is better)

elevation 6000ft above sea level

Air box lid off

Snorkel off

 

please could you help point me in the right direction of what needles i will need to buy.

 

if you need any other info please ask and i will reply

all i can say with mine is that 3-0 is too lean on top without pj's, but maybe not on 36's. wildcard or redline should be able to get you set up with what needles you need.

I got my needles coming from Packard Racing. Just gave him the motor, elevation and temps and WHAM. New needles on the way. Im running 34 with pj's and soon to be 4-2 needles at 51.8mm starting point.

anyone else that can confirm or help with this as i have sent packard an email and they haven't replied in a few weeks hence this post.

 

any lectron pros that can share some insight?

You can't email him. I have sent him an email over 2 months ago and still waiting. So I justed called him and 5 mins later I had the needles on their way. Got them in 4 biz days

Go right to the man.

Dennis Packard is a great guy to talk to...and he is in this sport.

Many people get turned off by Lectrons because they don't have the right needle.

They will NEVER run right without the right needle and without it running correctly.

 

I love mine...pure and simple.

yup you have to have the right needle and packard cna get you dead on with whatever you need.

 

trying to jet a lec with the absolutely wrong needle is like trying to jet a kehien with a rich slow jet and super lean main and only able to move the needle in that. you did that enough youd hate those carbs too. HA
