SonOfSand Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Hey guys, When I open my throttle all the way the needle is still down in the hole by almost 1 centimter, the slide cant go up any more, it is toucing the bottom inside of the cap. Is this normal? It seems the needle is blocking a lot of fuel. I am Using a CEL needle. Quote

J-Madd Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Can you push the slide up any more by hand? It sounds like the slide is all the way up and the cable adjuster on top of the carbs are fine. It's normal for the needle to stay in the jet a little. Quote

I just checked, I can not push the slide up anymore with my fingers, will jeff's kit fix this? Is one centimeter normal, that seems like a lot. Quote

Mine are 35's with CEL's also and this is how they are fully open which is right. Not sure if its 1 centimeter, but there in there a lil ways anyway. I can measure with calipers how far exactly if you need me too. http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/?action=view¤t=CarbslidesPWK35002.mp4 BHQ I run the taller adjuster on top also, makes a lil bit of difference imo. Great carbs, hope that helped My 30's were like that and if i remember right my stockers were also. Quote

The guy at sudco said the needle was mostly out. My stock carbs come out further, and the tapper of the needle is so small at that point, its like the needle is not there. What needles are you running? Thanks for all you're help savage. Quote
