miami350 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 im new to banshee so here we go with some questions........ my stock crank went bad and the pistons i had was wiseco 513m06625 they told me my piston was .090 over so now i got me a 5mill crank for my bike and they told me i can't run the same piston that i need long rod piston that start with 795m0 but i cant find the .090 over long rod piston do they even make cant find it on wiseco site or no where... Wildcardracing Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 The 795 series pistons are only available in .020" increments. There are spacers available to run longrods with standard pistons but is not recommended. Your cylinders are pretty much used up at .090 over, you could resleave them with big bore sleeves and use blaster pistons with that longrod crank or replace them with lower bore cylinders and use 795's. I recommend porting it for the stroke and using cut domes. -B Quote

AKheathen Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 So i cant run 513m06625 with my new crank ... i need spacer for it or cut my dome? yah, you will need to make up for the extra 2.5mm upward stroke, which is done with the spacer or domes (domes are the best way) the different pistons are for longer rod length. just to clarify- you baught a 5mill stroker crank with 115mm rods, right? not just stock stroke crank with 115mm rods. or you could've got a stroker crank with 110 rods, which could use regular pistons, but you would still need to clearance the stroke. you have several differnt options to choose from to set it up. with that much bore, you are just about at the limits of the stock sleeve, as stated. you can punch it to the .100" over and run it 'till the next rebuild. wsm also makes really nice ported longrod pistons, too.
