Hey all got a 2000 banshee pretty much stock except for the k&n filter. After I ride for awhile it won't start when hot.Going to do a compression check tomorrow. Was looking for any ideas. Starts on 2nd kick everytime when cold. Just not when hot. Kick Kick Kick Kick. ANy ideas on how much compression it should have. It is bored 30 over. Redid top end couple years ago. Might be time again. Thanks Rick

I think that you need to check the electrical parts, like the ignition coil and the stator maybe when is hot they are losing continuity. I don't think that your top end is bad, if it 's bad will do the same when the shee is cold too, just my opinion I'm not a professional mechanic.

definitly a topend problem, you can fix it by just putting new rings in, because it sounds like everything else is operating properly. i had an 88 yz125 that did the same thing, it would start 1st or 2nd kick and after about 20 min or so it wouldnt idle and if i let it shut off it would be impossible to start until it cooled off enough.

Sometimes I have the opposite situation, hard to start cold but when it's hot start at the first kick. Someone can explain why could be the top end?? Did you check if the Banshee has power when is hot??

The thing runs good. I checked the plugs and the plugs are brown. Still waiting for compression checker. Any ideas on a good compression rating?? Hopefully get it checked tonight.
