SheezFast02 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Ok so I had ordered a range of jets as well as carb rebuild kits for my stock carbs. Then I came accross a set of PWK 28's in the For Sale forum, so I jumped on them. I was wondering where to start with jetting on these carbs. Current mods are as follows: FMF Fatty's w/ Powercore II's Lid removed PWK 28's Running 36:1 Amsoil Interceptor (open to suggestions on different ratio) 300' Elevation Thinking about replacing reeds and porting stock cages (Or should I wait for porting to do the cages?) Also, what's needed to eliminate the TORS box properly? Obviously I don't need the kit now since I'm replacing the old carbs. Just remove the damn thing and forget about it? Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Would be nice to know the temps, but i would say it's warm pretty much where you are so. (20-25C) Throw 160 in for mains. 52 for a pilot's And i assume theres JJH needles in them so leave the clips where they are (or look and see anyways) 1.5 out on the air screws and try it how it is with all of that. Might end up at 158's but throw new plugs in and check them after a bit. Or do a chop...your call. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html That will get you started on track. Then adjust accordingly if needed. With the tors box under the tank on the left side, just unbolt it and get rid of the wires. Then up on your throttle housing, pull the cover off and take/cut all the wires outa there as well as on the clutch side too. Trim them back as far as you want on the harness and ether heat shring them off or black tape them off. I run the same oil in alot of stuff for a good long time now at 50:1 like recommended on the bottle itself. Never had a problem with the stuff. Go ahead and get new reeds now if you like. Have a look through this also. Its Pinned at the top of this sub forum. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361 Quote
SheezFast02 Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 Yea 20-25C is about right for temps here. I'll start looking for jets. I appreciate the great help. Thanks a ton! Quote
