The last couple times i have been out and go through muck or puddles water is getting to my stator . I have checked the seal around he cover and went over everything i can think off. After i go through water it has a dead spot right off idle and kind of breaks up until it hits the power band and then runs fine. It will run this way until it dries out. Is there anything im over looking it seems to be sealed up pretty good.

Thanks,

Bead of silicone and be done.

I use a paper type gasket and silicone also.

Check the grommet where the wires exit the stator case. There should be a sleeve extending up the harness about 4 inches, but they get rotten and dont always seal. After I have installed the stator and flywheel and done any adjustments or whatever, I usually squirt a bunch of silicone RTV in between the wires and grommet and between the grommet and case and anywhere else that I think that water could get in around where the wires exit.

isn't the gasket rubber???

Some of the aftermarket billet stator covers use either a paper gasket or an O ring, instead of the rubber OEM gasket.

Yup as does my billet one, i just added a thin bead of silicone just because its a good time :D

The stock rubber one has the lil groove in it and wont work with most billet ones ive seen anyways.

it might be off topic but are you running the stock airfilter box?

if this is not a issue then clean the surfaces of the stator and case with degreeser and alcohol and seal it with some rtv

I just switched over to pods, but i had the same problem when i was running an air box with no lid. I do not go through any deep puddles that would get water up to the pods im very careful about that. I think im going to get some silicone out and work on some things.

Thanks guys
