Hey im workin on a project and i dont know if the bolt that holds the clutch basket on is standard or reverse thread........ some one help me out ive been tryin both ways and can't get the damn thing off to replace the clutch.

Its not a bolt, it's a 32mm nut. Its standard. Keep all the plates in (fibers and steels) keep in neutral then stick a old shop rag or a penny between the gears on the back side.

Then give it a zap off with an impact after you bend the lock tab down from the nut. Give it a good quick zap with an impact or 2 grunts with a ratchet when you tighten it back up also. If you end up letting a fart out within the 2 grunt maximum, you probably went to tight :lol:

Then bend the lock tab up on the nut. If you want to use a TQ wrench to tighten it, its 66 ftlbs. 53251.gif

hey thx i got it yea i know the banshee uses a 32mil nut but this was for a kx. THANKS AGAIN!!!

DO NOT hit it on with an impact!!! If you over tq it, you will bend the washer behind it and it will cause you probs in the long run. Trust me I did the same thing. What it does is bend that washer and will keep the clutch engaged and will burn up the fibers. Signs of over tq'ed is hard to find "N" while sitting still. Clutch catching in gear while clutch is pulled in.
