kodie Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 whats done to it now? pipes, porting, different sprockets all help make power where you want it. Quote
89 Banshee Man Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 I have timing plate at +4, Pro Circuit Platinum Pipes, No porting done to it. I do believe the rear is a 45t and the front don't know. I know the top end power is great just would like some better low end power. Also still running 2 stock carb setup tors removed. Quote
theoriginal87 Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 I highly recommend the setup i have on my bike (look in sig).. i run the tightest trails and never have any problems with not having enough lowend - mid power.. That is im assuming that your gonna ride trails with that type of power being needed.. non the less i could not be happier with my bike and have absolutely no problems woopin on all my buddies 4-pokes in the trials. Snopczynski Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 port work and more compression are gonna be your two biggest gains in power. Quote
89 Banshee Man Posted March 29, 2010 Author Report Posted March 29, 2010 Yes that is what I plan on doing is shaving my head .20 and get a mild dune/trail port done to it. Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 well if you want low-mid power, then dont do a dune port on it. Quote
89 Banshee Man Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 Ok so no dune port. What if I get an aggressive trail port job done to it? Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Well, hopefully the guy you send it to knows what he is doing. Typically for low-mid power, you want to keep the exhaust port low, and just widen it. Also mess with the intakes and move the transfers slightly as well. Typically dune ports move the exhaust duration up to around 190-192 degrees which is what you don't want if your optimizing low-mid power. bolt on low tension or mid tension carbon fiber reed petals are good mod too. HectortheHut Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 You know, I've always wondered-- if you get one of those Dyna CDI boxes with the programmable timing curves, do you still need to get an adjustable stator plate? Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 nope. I have a dyna cdi, and I dont run one. I program mine too though. Quote
89 Banshee Man Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 ok Thanks Guys for all your input. I am planing to do all this work in the off season this year. Just going to ride it the way it is this year. Unless I go boom with it. lol Quote
