Hi, i have a problem, recently I refresh the top end of my Banshee, just piston and rings. The cylinders weren't touch it, they are without any sign of damage. My question is, does the motor need breaking?? before the rebuild the compression test result was 90psi in the right and 110psi in the left after the rebuild I just star up the banshee and ride not for a long time and the compression test was only 80PSi both sides. Does the motor need X hours of breaking or what you think guys. I used Wiseco piston kit for the rebuild. Please people what you thing that I can do for solve the problem.

more then likely since you said you didnt touch the cylinders you answered your own problem, when ever you re ring a piston and cylinder assembly you MUST hone the cylinder to deglaze it or else your new rings will not seat properly and thus end up in the situation you are in right now

I didn't do this because the mechanic saw the cylinders and told me that they were in great condition don't touch them!! and that was I did. other guy told me that I need to ride the banshee a little more because the banshee need the break-in and them check the compression again. Apparently the problem before the rebuild was one of the VForce was stock and always it's stay open. and it receive more air than the other side and that's why this piston and ring were damage. Other thing the banshee ride very good just that you feel the kick star kind a soft, i think like it suppose to be with low compression.

Any other experience guys!! thanks for the replys.

What kind of guage are you using ? Did you check piston/cylinder clearance and ring gap before you assembled everything ?

kind of gauge I used?? wow I don't know why explain just a simple gauge LOL I don't know brand or something like that. but It's the same that always I have used for my Honda project. I don't check the clearance and I really don't know why! my bad, just we thought that the old piston was std bore and one of them the compression test result was 110 not so bad plus found the problem with the side that the result of the compression was low plus the mechanic saw the cylinders and he said that they were in good condition don't touch it!!, I think that's why just bought the wiseco rebuild kit and installed.
