00sheerzr Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 hhhhmmmm how big is the hole? i had a gas tank where the hole was tiny and i ran over it with a heat gun and a bondo spreader and it sealed it right up. maybe try a pool liner patch or bike tube patch with non gas soluble epoxy Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 If i didnt have the cash to pic one up fast and i wanted to ride i would try hot glue. try pushing it into the crack with a needle to make sure it seals but before that i would drip some in gas and let it sit to see if the gas eats it. you dont want that shit in your motor. i believe a 79 has a plastic tank but if not they make a tank sealer for old rusted out tanks. MasterBlaster Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 yeah its plastic..and its not a hole its a crack the shape of a cross on the side of the tank...do u think epoxy would work? Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I did some looking around and found this. if it does what it says i would think it should work. for the price its worth a try. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/72/12556/ITEM/Permatex-MotoSeal.aspx?SiteID=CSE_Gbase_12556&WT.mc_ID=80003&zmam=88421133&zmas=1&zmac=45&zmap=12556 Quote
