theoriginal87 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 ok so im finally getting the shee tuned perfect and went to go do a plug chop the other day and now im abit confused...... right now i have 280 mains, 27.5 pilots and air screws 2 turns out and i gotta say this thing is fast when its tuned properly but besides that i started out around 340's and worked my way down to the 280's and it runs great but when i did the plug chop they didnt come out how they were supposed to?? i pulled the plugs and they a brownish tint to them more or less in the middle n towards the top... not the 2mm high chocolate brown ring at the bottom or whatever its supposed to be... but the thing is with the 290's it bogs abit n seems alittle ruff on the topend and with the 280's it runs flawlessly ... the only thing i can think is i didn't do the plug chop correctly, i ran the bike at wot through all of the gears when it was warmed up with the new plugs and got to the end of sixth and pulled the clutch n killed it. the only thing is is didnt continue to hold the throttle after i killed it.. could this have possibly be the cause of my problem?? well anyways if anybody has any advice i would greatly appreciate it MODS: pro circuit pipes n silencers k&n with proflow boysen power reeds Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Read this TWO times out loud to yourself. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html When you warm the bike up completely on the OLD PLUGS and get to the exact spot you can do a long 6th gear pull, then shut it down and quickly put the NEW ONES in and start it and instantly go WTFO into 6th for a bit. THEN hit the kill switch and pull in the clutch. Then coast to a stop and what not. Take the NEW PLUGS out and stick the OLD ONES in and ride home and chop the NEW PLUGS that you just ONLY did a WTFO pull with. Dont idle for more then a couple seconds with the new plugs you want to chop and check. Do the steps to a "T" to get the results you want. Mess with a step then it wont work, follow me? Quote
