Hey all, I have a 1996 banshee and it is completely stock. I have had it for a couple of years. The Banshee will start first or second kick usually, the issue is the choke does not seem to do anything when I pull it out. I have had the carbs apart and run thru my parts washer and when I put them back together the fuel bowl with the brass plug is on the carb with the choke knob. Don't know if it matters I am in N.Y. It has stock needles, clip is 3rd down from blunt end, 220 main and 1-1/2 turn out on mixture screw. Choke stays out when pulled on but doesn't seem to matter when it is cold, warm, running or not. Is the choke supposed to give it a faster idle or just richen the mixture with out speeding up the idle?

the choke simply richens it. if you are lean at idle, or cold, then the idle will raise......if you are tuned properly, and warmed up, the choke will start loading it up at idle, and it will eventually foul the plug........i would look at the choke jet for blockage from particles that run through the washer. it's verry similar to the pilot jet, but in the bottom of the bowl.
