00sheerzr Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 im looking at a set of t5s guy says he lost a muffler and doesnt know where it went, does anyone know whhat other mufflers will fit, Quote
AKheathen Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 you are going to want to run the same toomey silencers....there are aftermarket ones, but i doubt they will work as good... Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 yeah your gonna want to run the toomey silencer. Cascade has some silencers that will fit but they prob cost more anyways. Quote
00sheerzr Posted December 5, 2009 Author Report Posted December 5, 2009 im going to look around and see if anyone has mufflers, i dont need them right away cuz the pipes im getting are very rusty so im guna sand and polish them before installing them , what do just the mufflers usually cost used Quote
AKheathen Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 fatboy2 silencers would probably work good, too.......you can probably get silencers alone for under 100.......ebay Quote
00sheerzr Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 i have dg mufflers and stock exhausts so those might work with alittle tweaking until i can find a good deal im working on cleaning the t5s up glass bead works good, i got tusk nerfs, t5s with one silencer, and a set of +2+1 a arms not sure of the brand but i need the hardware, all for 200 buck o ya he threw in a boost bootle for shits and giggles too, get ready for the best part he drove from rhode island to connecticut to drop them off Quote
AKheathen Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 actually, if those dg g mufflers are made for stock pipes and are kinda small, then they might work perfectly....get some pics and inner diameter measurements.... Quote
00sheerzr Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 actually, if those dg g mufflers are made for stock pipes and are kinda small, then they might work perfectly....get some pics and inner diameter measurements.... il get pics tomoro and i also got to see what you guys think about these a arms i picked up with the pipes idk the brand he says lonestar but theres no name on them, Quote

AKheathen Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 well, that looks promising, but i need a pic of the silencer itself......nice thing is that toomeys line up in the stock location....i used vht headder paint and great results, just use thin coats and bake them 3 times. it's kinda runny Quote
00sheerzr Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 thats the exact paint i used but i used whit primer and black paint, it came out really good i also have painting experience, i had to cut off about 2 inches off the muffler ends that meet the pipe, they are the same size and dont slide in , im just goin to clamp them with a rubber seal and hose clamps it looks like its going to work , but its alittle half assed loluntil i can find a right toomey muffler it kills to sit there and see the left one but no right one o ya what jets should i runs toomey recomends 280s im guna thro in 290s all i got done is pipes and a pro flow kit with a k&n filter, should i leave the pilots alone , its also about 40 degrees right now and i wana ride in the snow, im close to the shore less than 500ft above sea level Quote
AKheathen Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 i would actually jump to a 310 main and see how that feels wot. 1 size rich will be fine right now, since you are gonna need it in the snow....i have seen that piec you cut off welded back on the stinger to slide over the pipe Quote

AKheathen Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 well, if you are not running a lid, then youe snow ridding will not only be cold, but dry as well. 310 is what i was running in the snow last year with the same setup. you may need a 27.5 pilot or even 30 with that boost bottle....never know untill you adjist the airscrews for how they perform....
