96banshee350 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Well first of all i want to say hi to everyone. My name is cori i am from Berlin Md and ride a 96 banshee. i have had the bike a few months now. had a blaster before this one. so anyway i just put a new clutch in the bike, the old one was slipping real bad. at the same time i chose to use Engine Ice coolant instead of the normal coolant i have always used before. its funny to say but the bike seemed alot faster with the old slipping clutch and normal coolant. do you guys think that these things run better a little hotter rather than cooler? i also turned the idle up just a little bit because it was idling really low and would cut out sometimes. just now does not seem like it has the get up and go it did before. or maybe its just me. anyone have any ideas let me know. thanks again Quote
AKheathen Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 well, welcome cori. i would start by cleaning your carbs, one at a time, and make sure your jetting is right. junk can get in the jets and passages, especially if you tipped the bike on it's side to do the clutch, or removed the carb to pull the release lever for some reason.
