Ok so i have an 01 shee with v force reeds, fmf ssts, and k&n filter. Recently replaced the fuel valve seat and needle in both carbs because one was leaking out the overflow tube. On my last trip the left cylinder stopped firing and i replaced the plugs and within five minutes it fouls out the left plug again. I believe that the left carb is dumping fuel into the cylinder. any ideas why? i was thinking the float was adjusted wrong but wouldnt it leak out the overflow before it started dripping into cylinders?? any help appreciated. thanks.

jetting is 270 mains 27 pilots and stock needles on forth clip from the top, around sea level (a little rich). fuel is mixed 40:1. thanks again.

well, i believe that in 01, the carb bowls lack the little overflow tube, and only have the drain screw....which it will be possible that it drains into the engine first. definately check the float heights.....

they definitely have an overflow. the right carb was slowly leaking out the overflow which is why i replaced the fuel needle and seat. i figured i might as well do both carbs and now the left is draining into the cylinder...

by overflow, i mean the drain screw hose, on the bottom of the bowl, not the ones on the sides.....just verifying. it would have to be more than just a little bit leaking to get up into the cylinders, and the hose on the bottom would be steady draining at the same time, unless it was plugged. try cleaning out the float needle, and check the height and that the float will move freely. also, the float itself can get stuck, so you tap the bowl with a screwdriver to stop it.
