VALENZ Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 i put 110 octane race fuel in my banshee. I never tried it before. I ran it 40:1 with 2R yamalube and it ran like crap. when i got home I noticed that there was a lot of oil build up in my carbs. does anyone think it was the fuel or something else? Quote

It will do absolutly no good.May do more harm than good. 110 should only be used on built high compression motors with at least +4 timing advance. Dont listen too the hype from your buddies that say race gas will make it run better. Its leaded so of course there will be more oil buildup. I run a 50/50 mix of 110 and super unleaded. My motor is ported bored and built with plus 4 timing. It runs better with the mix than with just straight race. Now if I change my coolhead domes to 19cc I could run straight 110 because i would have more than enough compression. My advice would be too either drain it or top it off with some premium fuel. VALENZ Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 thanks that really helped. I'm just gonna clean my carbs and run abgas since it runs better with that. Quote
AKheathen Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 you run that much octane with 20's? mine didn't make as much power with 100ll and +5.5 right now i'm running 95 octane with much better results. Quote
