Moose stator question

I got a 250 watt Moose stator and I dont know what the extra white wire is for. Its got the normal black and yellow ones and then the white and of course no directions.

it's the second lighting coil. i belive it's 100watts on the yellow, and 150 on the white

So I can go up to 2- 50w bulbs using the yellow wire and 2- 75w bulbs by using the white wire? Could I use both wires at the same time if I want to run 2 sets of lights(each on there own circuit, not by tying the 2 together)?

yes, you run 2 0ff one and 2 off the other, but i'm not sure if you need to run a second regulator, or can tie them together on that one. check your instructions

You want to run lower wattage bulbs than what the max output of each circuit is, otherwise it wont be as bright, unless you ride at full throttle all the time.

Ok, I'll do that I dont like them to dim way out at low revs like they do now.

DO NOT tie the two circuits together, the stock regulator can not handle that much amperage. The moose instructions say you need to add a second regulator and they recomend what one to use. I don't think the stock regulator will work on the higher wattage circuit, but I am not positive about that. I am positive if you tie the two together it will fry the stock regulator. It might not do it immediately but it will do it.

I wont tie the two together buy eventually I want to run 2 sets of lights. All I have is the stockers right now and Id like to leave those on with higher wattage bulbs and then get some better ones to mount somewhere else. I want to find out what desert racers use, Hella or something?
