Hi,

I have a 2004 Banshee. I was riding, then suddenly it dies. I verified the ignition coils and the cdi and I replaced it. Also the resistance values for the stators (source and pick up coils) were verified and are between values. Checked continuity of cables and are fine. Have no TORS and no main siwtch key (the main is bypassed). What I found interesting was that in the Engine stop switch connector (wireharness) the black and black/white has continuity between them when the cdi is connected, but when the cdi is disconnected no continuity between them. I think that the B and B/W cables are shorted in some way. Is there the posibility that the wireharness connector in the cdi is damaged/shorted or this is good. Am I right ? Please helpppppp !!!

well, if the black and black/white wires are showing continuity only with the cdi hooked up, your only hope is to open the pigtail on the cdi and look for the 2 wires rubbung or shorting in some way. have you verified continuity between black and red/black @ the cdi plug in the harness? if so, you need a new cdi. they are soild state, but still can get corrosion and dry connections sometimes, and have a short internally. the quick test is to smack the cdi and see if it starts working......this is actually a test......just like a maf sensor
