missing suspension link?

Just picked up a 94 banshee, looking over it the rear shock is very soft almost bouncy. I noticed that it is missing the linkage(bars that hang below the swing arm) to tha swing arm the shock is bolted directly to the swingarm ? I,m new to the banshee world just asking if thats ok to do? Thanks..

Post pics yo. A no link banshee isn't unheard of, but it is usually found in a drag racing only quad.
