I did a search and I could not find what i was looking for. What kind of chain should i get. I ride mostly sand.

If you are riding in sand and want your chain to last, definetly get a sealed chain( O or X ring). If you want to be fast and dont care how long your chain lasts, get a non O ring. Usually, the more you spend, the better the chain. I have been using the DID X ring, it seems to hold up the best of the reasonably priced chains and DID was the original supplier to Yamaha.

I disagree.

Sidewinder chains are junk, know several people that have snapped them...and they're about the most epensive out.

Regina makes nice chains.

For Mud and water, I'd get an X Ring, for sand riding, I'd get a standard chain...light coat of WD 40 on it and you're good.

I use a X-ring for sand.. But.. Only cuz I'm a lazy and dont like to clean and lube my chain alot :D.

I actually did have a non sealed chain goin on my bike this year (RK MXZ3) but I changed my mind on it because I wanted to get away from the clip type master links and I found a master link that I liked.. but was only available for a x-ring chain (EK SRX). I'm just kinda paranoid about case damage for some reason, so I try to take every precaution.

So.. For Sand either will work. But definately a sealed chain for water and mud.
