donkeypuncher Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 ok, so i went riding over memorial day weekend and on the second day i was there i started having some trouble with upshifting. seemed like every once in a while i couldnt shift up, like it was stuck in gear? this was my second trip after installing a new clutch kit (fibers, plates and springs) and a modded shift star. i will say that since i put the modded shift star in i haven't mis-shifted once, so thats a plus. but, i also never had any problems with my tranny getting "stuck" in gear. anybody got any ideas as to what would be the cause of this? TIA! Quote

TIA! Sounds like the shift claw might be binding up or your clutch is not disengaging properly. Clutch issues are commonly considered trans issues because if you do not unload the torsion on the trans, it will not want to shift. Need to make sure the clutch basket does not have grooves. That will really cause it to bind under load and not shit, I mean shift.... Brandon Quote
