Gus0732 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Ok guys when I start it up sometimes it don't want to rev up I'll have the throttle all the way in and it won't rev up it but then eventually it will rev up and and I can go ride. Any ideas what might be the problem? Quote
BSHEE400 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 sounds to me like the parking brake or tors Quote
BSHEE400 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 throttle over ride system, it's the big metal things sitting on top of your carbs. you can disconnect the control unit to see if it helps, it's a small black box bolted to the frame just in front of the gas tank on the left side. it has one wire coming out of it that joins into the wiring loom via one white plug. there is also a wire coming from the clutch perch which activates the tors when the parking brake is engaged. i can't remember how to disconnect this because i haven't had either of them on my banshee in years try disconnecting them, if it doesn't help then you can always plug them back in Quote
slopoke Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Is it flooding while sitting? Maybe it is loaded up and you are having to clear it. Does it do it when it sits a while or all the time? Quote
Gus0732 Posted July 27, 2009 Author Report Posted July 27, 2009 It doesn't do it all the time normally when it's cold but yesterday I went riding road for awhile and stop for about 5 min. And it did it. I do I have trouble starting it every now and again Quote
slopoke Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 your needle vavles (fuel inlet needles) may be worn causing excessive fuel to enter the engine while it is off. Try turning the fuel off as soon as you kill it. See if it helps when you restart it cold. Quote
Gus0732 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 Getting to much fuel would that make it die when I start it. I have to rev it for awhile and get it worm or else it dies (that's when it's reving right) sorry guys I'm new to this banshee. I'm just confused why I can't just start it and let it idle or is that just a 2 stroke thing? Quote
slopoke Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 yes getting too much fuel will cause that. is it smoking real bad like it is flooding? did you try turning the fuel off after running it and letting it sit till cool and try it ? You may have bad needle valves and orings. Quote
Gus0732 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 it smokes pretty bad when I start it but after I get going it stops. I'm not able to ride it right now I just bought it and the air filter and box was really dirty so Im buying a k and n and I have the box out trying to get all the dirt out. I thought that might be my problem. Quote
flatty Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Hello... well im kinda having the same problem right know. Mine you can worm it up with a liitle bit of throttle while it to smokes. You put it in gear and it acts as if it were running out of gas or extremely flooding, wont go! Turn it off, let sit a couple of seconds and it wont start. Ill take any bodies ideas...Help please. slopoke Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 same thing needle valves. If they are not working right they will cause excessive gas to enter the engine. especially when you turn it off causing it to flood. Try putting a carb kit in both carbs. Really all you need is the fuel inlet neddles and oring for the seats. This should correct the problem. One way to tell is shut the fuel off before killing it. Then the next time youcrank it see if it is better. Quote
Gus0732 Posted July 29, 2009 Author Report Posted July 29, 2009 Where can I buy needle valves and a carb kit online? Quote
