davenportracing Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 well crap just got the shee all togeter and now the top ring spun caught the exhaust port broke the ring in half and chipped the piston but it didint hurt the cylinder thank god but im going to put new pistons and rings. ill get pics of what happend. I'd be looking to find out why that happend before I throw a new set in. ok the notch on the piston that keeps the rings from turning was gone but i used the piston anyway so that was the problem cause the first time we took it apart the ring was seized and the gap for the ring was at the exhaust port Quote
mopar1rules Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 yeah, i wouldn't have tried to run it w/o the stop pin for the ring. what kind of piston was it? i personally use pro-x pistons and like them. no trouble w/them. Quote
