My 485 at sea level had 24cc domes and the compression was right at 200 PSI per cylinder. Right now I currently have 27cc domes and the compression is 175 PSI per cylinder. I have a 485 with powervalves blocked off. Even with 175 PSI you should be running 110 race gas. Quote
2001Stroker Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Depends on porting, elevation, timing, and a few other things to be able to point you in the right direction. I would say 29cc domes would be safe for pump gas. 27's might need somewhere around 104 octane, and 25's need 110 octane. Quote

2001Stroker Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Me personally, I don't believe that cranking compression has anything to do with fuel requirements. Alot of people on here do. It's just a tool for figuring out when you need to do your topend. I go by compression ratios, and timing. Quote
