Running 485 Cheetah, one on 95Pump the other 110 Race gas, anyone tell me what dome volumes are successfull/safe - thanks

Depends on your elevation. My 485 at sea level had 24cc domes and the compression was right at 200 PSI per cylinder. Right now I currently have 27cc domes and the compression is 175 PSI per cylinder. I have a 485 with powervalves blocked off.

Even with 175 PSI you should be running 110 race gas.

Depends on porting, elevation, timing, and a few other things to be able to point you in the right direction. I would say 29cc domes would be safe for pump gas. 27's might need somewhere around 104 octane, and 25's need 110 octane.

Me personally, I don't believe that cranking compression has anything to do with fuel requirements. Alot of people on here do. It's just a tool for figuring out when you need to do your topend. I go by compression ratios, and timing.

Just been told that Mericans quote the volume of the domes chamber, so the effective volume ( to calculate actual com ratio) is less the piston volume, for the 485 around 7cc - correct???
