278 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 OK guys Im taking my shee back apart for to get all my PC work done, I was supposed to take everything to the place tomorrow, but I was to tired to finish dis-assembly today and there's some chassis work I got to get done... So my question- I was trying to get the bearings and seals out of my axle carrier (stock carrier), and I cant seem to get the seals out. So am I just being dumb because Im so tired or is there a trick, I just tried to tap them out and pry them out, between work and school I've been pretty run down so could some one help me out and do a run down of how to get the seals and bearings out of the carrier with out damaging stuff! Thanks in advance guys Quote
Ducman Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 You can pry the seals out but a lot of times if they have been there for a long time they will get dammaged to get them out. They are not terribly expensive though. You can get the bearings out by putting something like a piece of pipe that just fits inside the bearings (like the axle does) and drive them out from the opposite side. Hit one side of the inner race and then the other, back and forth. These can also be fairly stuck but a lot harder to dammage than the seals. Quote
278 Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 Ok so the seals are going to get damaged because they're stuck in there real good... ok that's all I wanted to know thanks man Quote
