Probably been 10 yrs since I did that but we were contacted at the dealership by the monsterjam org looking for experienced racers that can get sideways competitively. I was not paid a dime, was given the name jo bob from NY, and was told to drop the ball at the last minute for their "local" guy. Yeah, it is an act to a degree but there was not a ton of rules when I ran, only not to win. Took most of the fun out of it for me too because that was concrete racing and I had a nasty setup for that too. Not sure how you get in these days. B Quote

One guy in the shop broke his leg (really) so not sure if there was too much competition for the organization or what. I was far from winning anyway because some JA hit me at the start of the race and jacked my bike up. I finished half pack both days. Had someone told me there would be a $1K purse or something, I would have been motivated to set my bike up better. By the way, Banshee guys were funny as hell to watch! NO traction! It is worth it just to say you did it though but I sure as hell would not take my Protrax bike out there for no purse. Guess they probably have guys lined up to do it. I might throw something together some day just to try that out again. We are building a new dome here so that might be reason enough to slide it again. Quote

Ill do it if they respond, but Im not going to jump through hoops to try from what Ive been finding out. I dont plan on losing either way if I do get in. As long as I can holeshot, it most likely be mine. If they say throw it, Ill be like oh ok and run that shit anyways. Quote
NOS_350x Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Well i know here on the west coast Nic Grunland runs it. He collects the racers. Sets up the plots and such. I can tell ya this, If you decide to thow it, and try and win it ait guna happen agenst him, the dude is FAST. They probably got the same thing over there. Some decently named pro running the sho, Its more about entertainment than racing. About one of the most fun races there is. Quote
