wacko2000 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I have airstrikers on my bike, was wondering if jetting these is similiar to regular pwk as far as jets go? At first i couldnt get the bike to hold a idle, had 48 pilots in there bumped to a 55, then swapped reeds and that seemed to help the idle problem. We gradually dropped to a 40 pilot and than bumped it up to a 42 pilot, seemed to idle the best there. Its pulling 7psi with the carb sync tool. Bike doesnt seem to have any bottom end, Im kinda stumped and was looking for some advice. 162 main Cel needle sea level about 60 degrees 4mil long rod Passion aggressive trail/dune port 35mm airstrikers vforce 3's 185psi +5 timing Quote
wacko2000 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 TTT I could really use some help, Thanks guys Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I would try moving the needle clips either up or down and see what happens, It made a world of difference with the way mine ran. Hope this helps for I am no jetting expert. Quote
lt1bird Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 You have changed the pilot jet alot......Did you set the air screws correctly? Make it idle at 1200-2000rpm...keep turning one idle screw at a time until you get the highest idle on each carb. If they are both out 2.5 turns or more go to the next smallest pilot jet and redo the test. Keep doing that until you are about 1.5 turns out on both screws... I was swaping pilots in and out high and low...Finally just adjusted the air screw and now I know I need one size smaller pilot.... From there I will tune the midrange needle clip stuff while im still breaking in the engine....Last will be the main... Hope it helps??? You are running race gas correct? I would get that idle perfect first...... so you dont foul plugs. Define "no low end power" does is just sputter or is it boggy? Quote
wesw Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 the a/s dont run the same specs as pwk you will be running lower pilot, leaner needle and less main than pwk your going to have a bitch of a time trying to get them to work my guess. your running jim motor it will want fuel down low and in the mid range but i cant help you with those carbs. not a fan of them. best of luck with pwk or pj you would be in the 52-58 pilot, dek i would suggest 4th 5th clip and 145-155 mains for 1000ft but you wont be close to that with those a/s. again you will have to play with it but every thing i seen and read they run lower number cause they flow differently or carb slide cut out blah blah. lol Quote
