ryansedy Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 almost finished building my banshee...4mm cub motor....Anyone running an inline fuel filter? will these filters flow enough for my 4mm cub motor with 35mm carbs? i dont want to starve the motor but want to run a fuel filter.. Quote
2001Stroker Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I think it's a waste of money, and slows the flow. The last thing you want for your motor to do, is run dry at 8,000rpm. If you have the stock fuel valve, you might want to also invest in a Pingel fuel valve. Quote
sheefreak Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I have successfully run fuel filters on a alky setup, but I run a pump. You have to get the right ones. I wasn't going to use them untill I bought a can of alky w/lots of sediment in it last year. Was the first time I started the motor after assembly, whole motor and carbs was squeaky clean. One side was not firing right, took the carbs apart and had dirt in the bowls which clogged the pilot jet. I cleaned the carbs, installed the filters, and never had another problem all season. IMO. they are not a waste of money. If you are not running alky, you will be fine w/o a pingle. You will get mixed thoughts on both of these issues. Quote
ryansedy Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 Yah guess i wont be running filters...just gonna be in the sand alot guess ill just make sure no sand anywhere, also i work at a diesel plant so i know what goes on behind the scenes. so kinda skeptical about where i get my fuel and how its been filtered, theres some shady shit that goes on. not really where i work but shit happens ya know.
