I have power in the yellow/red wire coming off of the stator but I have nothing coming out of the wires that go to the CDI. Does this mean I have a bad stator? It worked perfectly when I tore the bike down, and I don't see why these 4 wires would not have power but the yellow wire for the lights does. Any help is good

On the back side of the connector where the wires enter, locate the red and green wires. Set your ohmmeter to test resistance (and the correct range if you need to), and touch one test lead to the terminal on the red wire, and the other test lead on the terminal on the green wire. Your ohmmeter should read between 13.7 and 20.5 Ohms, so if it reads 15 Ohms your stator ignition coil is OK, if it reads

Right now I'm having issues getting this shit tested. My multimeter is not wanting to cooperate. It won't give me any sort of reading like the leads aren't even touching anything.

It's not a "Ricky" is it?? Mine did that last year but it was a Ricky stator and just quit for no damn reason.

No it is a OEM unit.

And I figured the damned thing out!!!!!!!!!!!!

My multimeter was bitching out and not working right, borrowed another, stator tests out. So I know it's my harness. For some reason I thought the run switch circuit was complete to run, but it is supposed to be open. I had it grounded out since I eliminated the switch. Cut the wire, put the harness back on and success!!!! Purrs like a kitten. A big ole cheetah kitten!
