Definitely should be a difference. There should be some places where the groove is cut different and some places where it has been welded to change the shape.

I can't see any difference between my old one and my old one....

Well that's the problem...look at the new one... LOL.

J/K...

Yeah, you should easily be able to tell the difference where new grooves were cut and where they were welded.

That is optional.

WCR started that a while ago....I was going to put one in mine, but I've never had an issue shifting mine, and I didn't feel like waiting for my bud to cut mine up...

The drum itself is definately noticeable over stock.

100% diffrent,I can post some pics if he needs later,I didnt know the bearing was optional,Jeff got it cut for me,at first I thought they could of done a nicer job with the welds, but all in all its heavily modded in tight places,

I've never seen a "pretty" welded or cut drum.

It's just not so...it's a part never seen, and as long as the strength is there, I wouldn't care what the welds look like, compared to...say a chassis component.

I am a officially pissed.

How much would it be to get my drum modded?

Hopefully my gearset gas been properly cut...

Looks like there are 3sets of dogs that have been cut at 45 degrees...

Does that sound right?

did you buy this dunable used???

Yep..said he did in the first post.

Probably gonna cost you 10 to ship it each way, and depending on what it needs, 50 to 150 bucks to fix, mod, etc.

Well this guy swears up and down that is the drum that ran his override.

Can I mess anything up by trying it out?

Is it possible to run an override with a stock drum?

And if you have time could you pm me and tell me exactly why the dogs are 45ed and what the other mods are for I'd feel way better with a good understanding of things..

Thanks for the replies

No way to answer that question for sure...could run fine, could break first time out.

You should definitely be able to tell the difference in the two.

Post up pictures.

Sorry...as far as telling you exactly how to cut the trans, that's taking money out of my others pockets.

That's kinda like asking a builder to tell you exactly how he ports the motor.

I'm not trying to be an ass...just trying to be fair to myself and my buddy that cuts them. I will have it looked at if you want to send it out.

I'll also be happy to sell you a perfectly cut trans so you can see for yourself...the price hasn't changed since I last quoted you.

I was just curious as to why the dogs were cut like that...I was studying it and the beveled side doesn't even contact a mating surface.....not trying to get your secret "recipe" LOL

I am just curious about things of a mechanical nature...

Anyway I partially assembled of and it seems to move oothly through gears 1-5, and does not engage 6th, so I suppose I can just grind off the 6th gear nipple to be safe.

As far as pics, the drum is stock and has not been modded...looks just like my stocker except for a threaded hole in the center of the stator side end.

The gear cogs have definatwly been cut and 6th has been swapped and a couple gears on the other shaft have been switched out
