Hardluck976 Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 Dammit..you totally stole my thunder. First...what mods do you currently have, second...what is your budget. I have T5s and 2 into 1 carb and some aftermarket reeds and thats all i know because i bought it used. It has a lot of top end but no bottom end. My budget is not that much since im just gettin into all this. Any help would be nice and thanks once again. Bryan Quote
dajogejr Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 If you could sell your pipes and pickup some ProCircuit, FMF Fatties or Paul Turner mids, they'd bring the power down in the RPM range. You will lose a little top, but gain some bottom and mid. That would probably be a wash cost wise, if not make you a few bucks. Toomey pipes, especially T5s hole their value. Cheap mods other than that would be a timing plate (about 40 to 45 shipped) set at plus 4 degrees, and shave .015 to .020 off your stock head. I'd warn against going much more than that on the head and the timing...because you might need to run higher octane fuel than normal premium pump gas. Those are both cheap mods that will help considerably. Quote

dajogejr Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Changing the sprockets won't get you more HP. By shortening the gearing you will be "on the pipe" sooner...you know, when you feel it start really pulling. But...the downside is you'll rev out and run out of gear faster, so you'll be shifting quicker and more often as well. Quote
brugal Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Cut a couple of inches off the swing arm. Quote
