toolucky Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Do i have to do a leak down test on both cylinders seprately. I have cheetah pv cylinders and i cant get the gauge to move when i pressurize them. I made the same tester thats in the sticky Quote
2001Stroker Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 No. Filling one side will make both sides pressurized. Something's either wrong with the guage, the air valve, or you have a major air leak somewhere. I woud check the tester fittings, intake boots, gaskets, and exhaust plugs before tearing the motor back down. Quote

docjcwatson Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I think you're going to have to find a way to plug off the PV's. Kinda like with the exhaust ports. Did you make the one that I showed? Quote

docjcwatson Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I have some ideas on how this could be accomplished. I am just going to leave it up to somebody who has done it before though. I have never dealt with PV cylinders. I would hate to give an idea for you to try, only for you to screw something up. Anybody have any experience with PV cylinders and trying to do a leakdown? Quote
2001Stroker Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I have brand new power valves, and they both have o-rings around the shafts, and gaskets on them. From the looks of it, they shouldn't leak through the jets. The jets just determine how fast they open. I'm pretty sure that there is a diaphram on the inside of them. Maybe that needs replaced. If they leak through the powervavles, you're going to have exhaust leaking there too. Quote
