WildShee Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Hey guys. Just another single carb starting point. After doing much searching about how to jet this carb, I have noticed most people recommend and EEK or EEJ or DEK needle. Currently I have an DEK Needle. Mods as follows. Stock bore Stock stroke Wiseco Pro Lites FMF Gnarley Boyesen power reeds Trinity 2 into 1 35 PWK K and N and No Air box Elevation 1400 ft Temps around 60 currently and get up into the 90's in the summer. Im just looking for a starting point and I can fine tune from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Edited March 16, 2009 by WildShee Quote

sredish Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) 180 or 185 main. 45 pilot. try the DEK needle 3rd clip, if it tends to bog on part throttle or seems to be a little finicky with the low/mid throttle jetting, then you may try an EEK. Edited March 18, 2009 by sredish Quote
Dick Wheels Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 I played around with mine yesterday for a litle bit and right now i'm at a 190 main, EEK Needle in middle clip and a 50 pilot. So far this is the best my shee has ever ran and I think I am very very close. I had a DEK needle before and it just didnt work for me. I think I may need to go to a 52 or 55 pilot though Quote
sredish Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 yea, i said 45 up there, but you may need a 48. mine always used a 48 with great results. all of what I suggest will have to be played with and some tweaking will be necessary. i said 180 to 185 and he's at 190, close. Don't remember DW, do you have porting? Also, try playing with your air screw some to. Quote

As for the air screw it seemed to get better as I turned it in but was running outta screw. The hollow sound was going away and being replaced by that crisp poping idle. It wouldnt idle smooth though...very eratic and was either to high or to low. would that be caused by the wrong pilot and being only .5-1 turn out on the air screw Quote
