hey guys im new here so sorry if this is in the wrong section and sorry bout any mispelled words, broke my wrist this past saturday at an xc race. totalled my quad so im looking for another quad for awhile. found an 2001 banshee but dont know much about them and was wondering if soomeone here could give me some help on wat to look for or any possible problems. also what are the difference between j arms and a arms? i keep seeing that on the site but im not sure wat the difference is. anyone care to post some pics of the difference.?

diff between a arms and j arms is when the banshee was first made in the late 80's they used j arms. shaped like a J. i think it was around 1990 they changed it to a arms which is still what you see on most if not all quads today. the front arm that the front wheels and shocks are hooked up to will be shaped like an A.

they have a conversion kit for j arm bikes to convert them into A arms.

as far as what too look for is the usual, look over the frame ask how many hrs are on motor, has it been rebuilt, maintance, etc? alot of people will tell you to test the compression but this can be a pain in the butt and i dont think many people actually take out a comp. tester and check it?

start the bike see how she runs, maybe take a test drive.

good luck with it does it have any mods?
