TJScott Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Im going to start wiring my Banshee sometime this week. Heres my problem. I have an 87 banshee frame and wiring harness. Yet I have an 06ish engine. The wiring plugs off of the coil are different. I was just wondering if its going to be ok to cut and splice each color to the other. Also I have no tors or a keyswitch for that matter but i do have a run switch what do i need to do so i dont need a keyswitch but my headlight/runswitch will work. and can i just cut the tors wires off? 2001Stroker Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I just posted this on someone else's thread. You can completely cut out all of the tors wires. If you want to get rid of the key switch, you have to ground the Red/Black Stripe wire coming out of the CDI. Stock wiring harness. My wiring harness. Quote
TJScott Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 what about the taillight? can i just cut it out too? Quote
tidos76 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 yes you can cut and splice the wires. i wouldnt just cut both ends and not have a pug. if you have to cut both sides go get a plug from radioshack. just make sure the wires are connected correcty and the plug is sealed. Quote

sleeper06 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Just make sure to use good stuff, solder, flux, and a personal favorite is heat shrink with sealant in it Quote

Not only is it ugly, but water gets in there and makes the wires corrode. I used a 150w electric soldering iron, flux core solder, and some black 1/8" heat shrink tubing. I found that in an 8 foot roll at the auto part store. Quote
