97stageIVBansh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 ok I have a 1997 banshee I just bought, it has stage iv pipes k and n filter with no lid, 320 mains, 4th clip on the needle, my question is my transmission is hard to shift from 1st to 2nd and its tricky to get in neutral as well, how much am I looking at to put a new one in or to have someone to put one in for me. also are there certain ones that are better or what? it will mostly be ridden on the trails and track. thanks guys Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Is it hard all the time or just when motor is on,next u probably dont need new tranny maybe shift forks, clutch hubs/parts. you need to have someone look at it or start easy with clutch parts so you dont have to crack cases Quote
97stageIVBansh Posted February 22, 2009 Author Report Posted February 22, 2009 when the bike is off it does shift easier but neutral Is still hard to find, and it still does shift a little hard but when I'm full blast in 1st and I wanna slam second sometimes ill miss second or its really hard to click up. also when the bike is on neutral is even harder to find. any ideas? 97stageIVBansh Posted February 23, 2009 Author Report Posted February 23, 2009 yeah I changed the clutch about two months ago and I had to change it then I've only ridden five or six times since then so it still looks fresh, ha whatsup by the way. is there anyway to make it shift smoothe and is it expensive? and could you just replace 1st and 2nd maybe? idk Quote
