redwings Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Hi everyone.....heres a question for you..... I was told my cylinders are standard size and have been honed. I was told that ill i have to do is by a standard piston set and drop the pistons in. I was told no need to match pistons with cylinders, that you only have to do that when bored... Does this sound right? Dont want any mistakes now........ Quote

I would have them measured before I bought the pistons, just to be sure, I wouldn't go by what "I was told". Quote
redwings Posted January 3, 2009 Author Report Posted January 3, 2009 Ok...thanks....I dont want to pay for bore jobs if i dont have to  Quote

deckheight Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Personally I would not assemble that motor on what you just said. Some of it doesn't sound right, especially that last statement... Which is 100% incorrect BTW. Anyway, just not enough info there! One mans "perfect" is another mans "POS"! Go down to Harbor Freight or something and buy a cheapo digital caliper and check them. Or take the cylinders and pistons to a machine shop and have them checked. Hi everyone.....heres a question for you..... I was told my cylinders are standard size and have been honed.
