J-Madd Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 anybody know the torque specs for the noss head acorn nuts?i'm servicin her at the minute, replacin fluids and bearings and checkin every bolt it's on a 421 cub if that matters, thanks I think same as stock (20 ft*lbs, I think). I was never able to torque mine all the way. It would start stripping threads out of the acorn nuts, as the nuts could only grab about 2 threads..even with new studs. I can see where it barely leaks some around the outside of the head, only because of the discoloration on the outside of the cylinder..never actually saw water leaking out of it (since putting silicone on threads.) FASTOYS Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Yes 20ft lbs and on a cub you may need to back the studs out of the cylinders a thread or 2 so you can get the Nuts on all the way up top. Quote
