any thoughts?

it ran but it was really low on power.

both cylinders are firing but just seems low.

what is the difference between the BR9ES AND THE BR8ES?

it had BR9's in it but we went put in the BR8ES back in it thinking it was the stock plug

With NGK plugs the lower the number the hotter the spark a B8 is a hotter plug than a B9. A B8 is what you should have in the bike. A little more info you say is seems low? Have you checked the compression on the cylinders?

ok, firs we need alot more info. what mods do you have? what fuel are you running? what's your elevation or location? i'm guessin those br9's were pretty black, or need to know why they were in there if you can get a compression check, that would be verry helpfull. did you put the br9's in to test? is that what you r sayin?

i was under the impession for the last 12 years that it was the temp of the ceramic insulator, because shorter ones dissipate heat faster.

sorry, don't mean to sound like an ass :whistling:

You may be right i have just always been told that in the NGK plugs the lower the number the hotter the spark. NGK will tell you if you run to lower of a number you will burn holes in your pistons because the spark is to hot. LOL i am just going off of research i would not be the first time i was wrong.

oh, isee, it's just in the terms. like when spark is called fire, even though it's not  when the electrode gets too hot, it works like a glow plug and ignites the fuel too soon. you can also detonate the ceramic from the cold fuel/air hitting it. like putting ice in a really hot glass. the piston melts because fuel is burning too long on it from preignition. oh and it's true, that the lower the number, the hotter the plug. ame with denso's too, i belive
