So i bought a 95 banshee thats in really good condition, clean ect. It started fine anytime i tried to start it in my shop for 3 weeks before i went out to the desert. This weekend when i went out...it started right up out of the truck, i warmed it up and shut it off then it wouldnt start back up without pull-starting it. the only thing done to the bike is FMF pipes and a K&N air filter/outerwear kit. The next morning it started up easily and didnt give me trouble all day...till it got dark then it wouldnt start again. it idles perfect...runs strong just is hard to start when it's warm. the compression is decent still i believe around 128 in both sides. Could it be my reeds(i believe original)? ive searched the forums but havnt found anyone with a problem quite the same. Thanks in advance guy's.

Is it a stock head, milled head or aftermarket head.

If it's stock..and you're at or near sea level and you used a quality compression gauge, that compression is great.

If it has smaller domes or a shaved head...not so great.

I would check the electrical system, they tend to show problems when it's hot. I would first look at the plug caps. They are known to go bad. Check for loose/burned or bare wires grounding out.

Does the bike have the TORS system still on it? Unplug it on top of the carbs, below the gas tank on the shifter side and disconnect the parking brake (actually, a 95 might not have a parking brake wire...not 100% sure on that...)

Sounds electrical. It doesn't sound like reeds. Either they are good or bad. Usually, it'll backfire/pop if a reed is broken or chipped.

The head is completly stock and im about at sea level here in san diego. im using a screw in compression gauge.

It does have the TORS still on it. I have not expierenced any of the tors related problems people talk about here on HQ(bogging rev-limiting or anything) I started it in 3 kicks in my shop this morning which kinda drives me nuts cause i was having so many problems with it out at buttercup(20 miles south of Glamis). Ill look around for bare grounded wiring and check spark on both sides and try unplugging the tors...but since it's starting fine here at home it's gonna be hard to figure out.

Ill also check out the plug caps. i ordered reeds just to replace the stock ones already...gonna pull the carbs, clean em and put the reeds in. hopefully it's something simple like the plug caps, thanks for the help!
