Rear Shock Spring Swap

Just wondering if there's any special way to remove the rear spring and replace with new one? Any tips would be appreciated, gonna do it tonight.

Be very careful because you can be easily injured by the spring if you don't know what your doing and don't have the right tools. If there is a suspension shop in your area i think it wouldn't cost more than $10 to swap it out.

that's what I thought, yeah a local shop wanted $80. brought it into work and gonna give it a try. got to go riding on Saturday.

Got it done. Removed the old soft spring with 2 people pressing down on it and the other removed the retaining plate. Used threaded rod and large plates to compress spring. Locked it in with about 10 fat zip ties, released the plates from the threaded rod and put spring in place. Cut zip ties very carefully. Ready to install shock and test ride on Saturday!

Thanks,

Jorge
