shogs Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 I've been tuned fine since I got my banshee and now after me riding it for a while after it warms up theres no smoke. Does this mean my top end might need to be rebuilt or could it be another problem as well? I'm going to go to my shop pretty soon and have them do a comp check for me so I know for sure. Quote
J-Madd Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 He said there's NO smoke after warming up...that's the opposite of water in the exhaust. It could mean the jetting is a little lean. or it could mean its spot on. My stocker barely smokes when it warms up in this cooler weather. Runs like a champ. Just do a plug check..if it turns out good, I wouldn't worry about it. Quote
J-Madd Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 i never smoke? and my jettings is spot on.. i do get it something in the morning after it's sat outside sometimes though What oil ratio do you run? Mine always smokes like a freight train until it gets warm...probably due to flooding it with the choke to get it running (my pilots are too lean for cold temps) Very odd to not smoke at start up. banshee#44 Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 your pobably just running a little lean try a 32:1 for your gas . i could also be your jetting Quote
shogs Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 Yea I'm running 32:1. I guess I'm just used to it smoking a shitload till it warms up haha. Hopefully its spot on. I'll do a plug chop when I get a chance. Quote
dirtydownunder Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) when the engine is cold the fuel / oil mix is harder is separate so it smokes a bit as its burning oil, once warmed up the fuel / oil separate's, the gas gets burnt and the oil hangs around to lubricate. dajogejr Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Some oils burn cleaner than others...if it's jetted spot on, don't mix more oil...leave it. Check your plugs and be done with it... Quote
